A Vehicle for Every Kind of Job
For anyone moving house, the branch offers cargo vans and furniture trucks from 12m³ to 40m³, and anything up to 25m³ can be driven on a standard car licence. With the university year wrapping up, the timing also suits Massey and UCOL students getting ready to change flats.
Farmers, rural contractors and lifestyle block owners can hire double cab utes and a 10 tonne flatdeck for moving gear, materials and equipment. Local trades, logistics and event businesses can add a van or truck when demand picks up, with a 40m³
curtainsider available for larger loads. Sports clubs, schools and community groups can book 12 and 18 seat minibuses to get the whole team to game day.

Electric Moving Trucks Arrive in the Manawatū
From opening day, three fully electric 21m³ furniture trucks will be ready for hire. Each has a full-size tail lift and can be driven on a standard car licence. Charging is included in the hire, so there is no fuel to buy along the way. The trucks also run almost silently, which makes early starts in residential streets easier on the neighbours. Their range of around 100km varies with load, driving and tail lift use, and suits moves and deliveries around town.
The trucks arrive in a city that already knows electric transport well. Horizons Regional Council has run New Zealand’s first fully electric bus network across Palmerston North and Ashhurst since March 2024.
“Since we launched EV truck hire from our Albany branch earlier this year, we’ve seen how well electric trucks suit local moves and deliveries,” says Phil Arras. “Palmerston North has already embraced electric buses, so it’s great to be offering locals the same choice for their next move or delivery. They’re easy to drive on a car licence, quiet in the street and there’s no refuelling at the end of the day.”
