Shanghai Delegation Visits Dunedin for Chinese Garden

(PR.co.nz) The largest delegation from Dunedin’s sister city of Shanghai to visit the city will be here on Thursday 25 March 2010.

The party is, in fact three groups, each ‘doing business’ with the DCC teams responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the city’s Chinese Garden but the 16 member party will come together for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Shanghai’s Yu Garden and Dunedin.

The Shanghai Garden party will be led by Mr Feng, chairperson of the Chinese Peoples’ Political Consultative Conference who will, with Mayor Peter Chin, witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding at a ceremony in the Garden at 11.30 am Thursday 25 March 2010.

The balance of the visiting party is from the Huangpu District of Shanghai and will be led by Mr Liu Director of the Cultural Bureau of Huangpu District who will sign the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Yu Garden.

There will be a ‘working session’ at the Garden to discuss various operational and marketing matters starting at 9.30 am on the morning of 25 March 2010.
