New Zealand owned tyre wholesaler Value Tyres will open its new Palmerston North distribution centre on Monday 2 November 2026, creating four local job opportunities and introducing dedicated delivery services across Manawatū-Whanganui and Taranaki.
Based at 23 Bennett Street, Cloverlea, the new operation will bring stock, a local team and Value Tyres delivery vehicles closer to tyre retailers, garages and workshops. Scheduled departures will give customers more options to plan orders around their workshop bookings.
The founding team will include a Branch Manager, two Warehouse Storepersons and a Delivery Driver and Warehouse Support team member. These roles cover the day-to-day management, stock handling, order despatch and delivery services needed to establish the operation.
Two delivery runs will operate from the centre. The first will provide four scheduled departures throughout the day, covering the city alongside services to Foxton, Levin, Feilding and Whanganui. The second will serve customers through to Taranaki, including Marton, Hāwera, Stratford, New Plymouth and Ōpunake.
Value Tyres Head of Sales and Marketing Jamie Coles said the investment was focused on practical improvements for customers.
“Having stock, people and our own delivery vehicles based locally gives us greater control over regional deliveries and a more direct connection with the businesses we supply,” Coles said.
“Our customers depend on having the right tyres available for the vehicles booked into their workshops. This investment brings our service closer to them, with scheduled delivery runs and a local team supporting their orders.”
The opening also creates opportunities for local people to help establish a new operation within a national business.
“We’re building a team across branch management, warehousing and delivery. Those four roles will be central to getting the centre established and supporting our customers from day one,” Coles said.
Founded in 1975 by the late James William Donaldson, Value Tyres has grown from a small family business into a national tyre importer and distributor. Value Tyres Today, the company serves more than 3,500 customers and is the exclusive New Zealand distributor for Hankook and Laufenn tyres.
The new centre forms part of the company’s investment in warehouse, data and delivery systems to support reliable deliveries, accurate orders and clear communication.
