(PR.co.nz) Christchurch and Banks Peninsula residents will now be able to buy discounted tickets for next year’s Ellerslie International Flower Show (EIFS) until the end of October.
Christchurch City Council Marketing Unit Manager Richard Stokes says the special residents’ offer has been extended until Sunday 31 October to give Christchurch people more time to buy tickets following the recent Canterbury earthquake. Discounted tickets for EIFS went on sale at the beginning of this month.
Christchurch residents and ratepayers are able to buy up to four Any Day tickets at the discounted price of $22 each to attend next year’s event. This type of ticket allows the purchaser to attend the event on any day they choose. Children’s tickets (under 15 years) are also available for the discounted price of $4 each.
Mr Stokes says planning is on track for the Show and the event will be a great way for people to celebrate the Garden City again after the earthquake. More residents’ special tickets have already been sold this year compared to the same time last year.
“Now, more than ever, people need something to look forward to. This is also a chance for us to thank Christchurch and Banks Peninsula residents for their community spirit during this difficult time,” Mr Stokes says.
The residents’ special was introduced in 2009 to recognise that the EIFS is owned by the people of Christchurch.
Discounted tickets for residents will be available from Council service centres or by telephoning the Council’s Customer Call Centre on 941 8999 or 0800 800 169 for Banks Peninsula residents.
Tickets are also available from the website www.ellerslieflowershow.co.nz. There will be no booking fee.
