(PR.co.nz) The lack of affordable housing not only in the major metropolitan areas but throughout New Zealand has recently been a hot topic in the press. The high costs involved in buying an existing home or building a house on piece of land has made home ownership very challenging for many New Zealand families and couples. With a projected shortfall of homes in the Nelson-Tasman area, where flat sections are difficult to come by, affordable homes will be needed to meet the demand from local residents.
One Nelson organisation has taken responsibility for turning home ownership dreams into reality. Home Living Solutions, a group of local businessmen, has come together to set up an association that is bringing affordable housing to the Nelson community. Their goal is to build great houses at good prices by purchasing land for sale in Nelson and then managing the entire build from start to finish. With years of building knowledge and experience, and by listening to needs and requirements of their clients, Home Living Solutions is making it easier for Nelson residents to buy a new home.
Work is currently under way on three subdivisions, Mount Richmond, Langdale Grove, and Three Ridges, with houses of various sizes and layouts available, offering fixed-priced homes with landscaped sections from $480,000 to $600,000. Home Living Solutions is working with Jennian Homes, GJ Gardner Homes, and Milestone Homes, and is focused on providing to the needs of clients with different housing requirements, depending on their stage of life, with some individuals wanting to down-size and others wanting bigger family homes with more space and land.
With a sizeable up-front investment and a nine month wait to get resource consent, the owners of Home Living Solutions are excited about building quality homes that are affordable to Nelson residents, and by regulating the entire development from sub-division through design to the finished build, they are keeping the price down and the value up.
