(PR.co.nz) 15 February marks the opening of “healex”, the newest natural health practice in Hillcrest, Hamilton, offering naturopathic consultations, herbal medicine, Bach Flower consultations and natural healing. Naturopathic treatment is intended to assist and stimulate the body’s own ability to heal itself. Naturopathy is both a system of natural medicine, and a way of life. Educating the client is a big part of the healing process.
The fully qualified naturopath Alex Beck-Brandl was born in Switzerland. He has lived in New Zealand since 1995 and has always had a passion for natural health. He believes that too many people put up with ailments and conditions which can be healed. “I don’t think that suppressing symptoms or focusing on a disease is the right solution. I believe in a holistic approach, looking at physical, environmental, emotional, spiritual and nutritional aspects of your life, support the body systems and promote health” says Alex and stresses that he spends up to 90 minutes with every client in order to get a complete picture of their health.
Last year Alex has successfully completed his university studies at Charles Sturt University (NSW) with a Bachelor of Health Science in complementary medicine and was awarded diplomas in naturopathy and medical herbalism, both with Honours, by the South Pacific College of Natural Therapies in Auckland. He is also a registered nurse (diploma from Swiss Red Cross 1986) and has worked in acute patient care (A&E, operating theatre and ambulance) as a specialised anaesthetic nurse and advanced paramedic for over 10 years.
Healex will be open weekdays from 8.30am to 5pm with two evenings (Tue/Thu) of extended hours until 7pm to allow for clients who are working 9 to 5. An online booking system at www.ezybook.co.nz, EFTPOS, and credit card facilities are available.
