AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – Accredited Roofing & Coatings has been awarded Residential Roof of the Year at the 2026 Roofing Association of New Zealand Awards for its work on a technically complex Auckland roofing project.
The award was presented during the RANZ Conference in Auckland, where roofing projects from across New Zealand were recognised for their craftsmanship, technical expertise and overall standard of execution.
Accredited Roofing’s winning project involved replacing an existing pressed steel tile roof with a new COLORSTEEL® Espan roofing system. New spouting and upgraded insulation were also installed to improve the home’s overall performance.
A Technically Demanding Roof Replacement
The project required a high level of preparation before the new roofing materials could be installed. The Accredited Roofing team began by levelling the existing trusses to within a 1 mm tolerance, creating an accurate structural base for the installation of the purlins.
This preparation helped the team achieve consistent rib alignment across the completed roof.
The roof itself included multiple pitch transitions, dormer roofs, detailed intersections and complex junctions around kitchen windows. The work was carefully staged, with the more straightforward roof planes completed first so the team could dedicate additional time to the most challenging sections.
One of the most technically demanding areas was the custom bay window roofline. Its uneven geometry meant every roofing sheet had to be individually measured and cut. Maintaining continuous rib alignment across the irregular surface required patience, precision and repeated refinement.
The dormer intersections introduced further complexity. Custom saddle flashings were fabricated to accommodate changes in pitch, integrate the dormers with the main roof and maintain reliable weathertightness.
