Ellerslie’s Newest Garden Expo Planted for 2011

(PR.co.nz) Auckland’s newest Garden Expo, The New Zealand Garden Expo is set to impress, excite and inspire green thumbs and budding gardeners alike at its launch next year from April 8-10 at Ellerslie Racecourse.

Forget high-end displays that should never be attempted at home, this show by Expertise Events takes an inspiring but very-hands-on, organic approach that is guaranteed to meet the needs of both novice and experienced green thumbs. There will be hundreds of exhibitors, an extensive program of hands-on activities, masses of beautiful potted colour, fresh greenery, food & produce, furniture, ornaments and much more.

Through a series of stages, visitors can watch live demonstrations and attend gardening education sessions that provide practical solutions for any gardening conundrum. At the New Zealand Garden Expo, visitors can learn how to pot at the Potting Shed, get in the know about all things organic at The Organic Circle stage, design a garden for a balcony or courtyard or watch a delectable cooking display by expert chefs and personalities using seasonal and local produce. The Ask It Solve It Stage will be in full swing with visitors invited to bring any gardening related questions to a range of industry experts.

There will also be stunning feature gardens and floral displays and hundreds of exhibitors providing visitors with the opportunity to purchase a diverse range of plants and products for all their gardening needs. The kids’ games and activity area will be a hive of activity, so it’s not just the grown ups having all the fun!

As part of an extensive program of activities, visitors can discover how to create ideal living and entertainment areas that blend seamlessly with kitchens and indoor spaces, learn how to attract the creatures they want into their garden (including how to keep bees or chickens) and keep out the pests they don’t want. They will hear about the latest innovations in garden design and, for a small fee, they can also drop off all their plant and product purchases for safe-keeping, allowing visitors to wander through the Expo in comfort.

The New Zealand Garden Expo will run from April 8-10, 2011, using the successful format Expertise Events developed for its popular ABC Gardening Australia Expo. For the New Zealand events, the company has combined with a media partner, ACP Media – New Zealand’s biggest publisher of consumer magazines. ACP Media will promote the event through three of its national publications: Your Home & Garden, Taste and Little Treasures.

Gary Fitz-Roy, Managing Director of Expertise Events, says the expo will be revolutionary, packed with practical advice and features that visitors will be able to apply in their own gardens, whatever the size of the space or their budget. “We will create an event that will inspire and entertain, appealing to all demographics,” he says.

Paul Dykzeul, Chief Executive Officer of ACP Media, says he is excited by the partnership. “We look forward to working with Expertise Events to extend our mix of aspirational and down-to-earth advice that is family-friendly, fun and easy. It will help us engage with our readers in a live forum.”

Expertise Events has been running successful consumer shows in New Zealand for eight years and in Australia for twenty years. “We believe that the New Zealand Gardening Expo at Ellerslie will, like every event we organise, challenge the boundaries, adding value to both the exhibitor and visitor.”
