(PR.co.nz) The V8s will officially kick off next month with a launch party in Garden Place.
Hamilton hosts its third annual V8 Supercar Streetrace on 16-18 April, when thousands of drivers, teams, corporate guests and motorsport fans come to the city for the New Zealand leg of the V8 Supercar series.
The ITM400 Hamilton is the biggest single sporting fixture in New Zealand and coverage of the event showcases the city on both a national and international stage.
Garden Place has come alive with a full schedule of activities through the summer and has been chosen as the location for the popular driver signings.
“The V8s is the biggest event in the city’s calendar and Garden Place is accessible for everyone to come and be part of what is a fantastic thing for the city,” Mayor Bob Simcock said.
“Driver signings are a great V8 tradition and we are very fortunate this year to have it take place right in the heart of the city.”
There will be entertainment on the Garden Place stage, car and motorbike displays, and grid girls and sponsors in attendance. The drivers will be on the stage to take questions from fans.
This launch party, from 4pm-7pm on Thursday 15 April, will be in place of the Mark Porter memorial dinner – a black tie function on the Thursday night before the event the last two years.
The i-Site in Garden Place will be open for ITM400 Hamilton tickets and Hamilton merchandise and some Garden Place businesses will open late.
