EDT launches free migration offering for Summation clients in New Zealand

(PR.co.nz) Following its successful uptake in the US, EDT today announced its free migration service is available for clients in New Zealand.

With every new license, EDT offers free migration and analysis services to facilitate the transition from legacy litigation support products such as Summation or Concordance.

Phillips Lytle LLP is one of the US firms that has taken up the EDT offer.

“Our Summation installation had run its course and we needed a new platform to replace it,” said David Lapresi, Phillips Lytle’s eDiscovery and Litigation Support Manager.

“We chose EDT’s Toolbox because it is a single, full-featured and affordable product. It supports the full litigation lifecycle from processing to analysis, review, production and presentation. This means there’s no moving data between multiple products which reduces time, complexity and cost. Most importantly, it is incredibly easy to use and administer. Lawyers with limited prior experience with this software are really embracing it.”

As one of the main sponsors of the 2nd Annual New Zealand Conference, held in Auckland on 19 March 2014, this announcement from EDT is timely.

“While we know we have a robust, proven solution that appeals to many law firms, we realize the biggest challenge is often the migration of old cases from legacy technology. That’s a problem that is as much of an issue in New Zealand as it is for our US and Australian clients. To that end, we’ve developed a new offering to make that process as smooth and painless as possible.”

The data migration service is provided via EDT’s network of trained consultants and partners, each of whom have extensive experience with litigation support software platforms.

“There are very few greenfield law firms that have no software in place and migration is a headache for litigation support managers. That is a commercial reality. We wanted to show our commitment to the New Zealand market by making this offer available now as we see this as a natural next step following on from the successful lunchtime forums we have hosted across New Zealand, a series that will again be delivered during 2014” said Sherman.

Hailing from Australia, EDT has recently established its presence in the US market, with founder and CEO Jo Sherman’s relocation to New York City to head up the expansion into North America.

For over a decade, EDT (http://www.discoverEDT.com) has established an international reputation as a preferred provider of end-to-end software to support litigation and investigations. Its Toolbox software covers the EDRM life-cycle from processing to analysis, review, production and presentation.

Over the last decade EDT has grown its client base to include four of the top 10 GLOBAL 100 law firms, many of the GLOBAL 200 law firms, top four accounting firms, large national law firms in Australia, magic circle firms in the UK, and numerous mid-tier law, accounting and forensic advisory firms. One of the three largest international corporations has also recently committed to a global rollout of EDT software.

EDT is now focused on growth within the US, New Zealand and Canadian markets.
