Incredible Time for Scouting in Taupo

(PR.co.nz) 2010 and the start of 2011 have been incredible for Scouting in Taupo. More and more young people are realising the benefit of joining our Movement and are experiencing the vast range of fantastic opportunities that we have to offer. 1st Taupo Scout Group, over the last few years has maintained a healthy size and has been able to boast the largest group in the central north Island and bay of plenty region. Already this year have had over 30 new additions to our group consisting of young people and leaders bringing their numbers close to 100 youth members. The only problem is they keep running out of uniforms! Due to Scouting New Zealand’s planed update to uniforms nationwide in August this year we are trying to reuse older uniforms they and in stock and acquire pre loved uniforms from the community, because of the cost to parents in buying the uniforms coming up. So if you have a “pre-loved” Scout uniform in a box in the garage which you do not want to keep as a momento, please let them know.

Uniforms can be dropped off at our Wheretia Street Hall on:
Tuesday 5.20 – 7.00 pm
Wednesday 4.20 – 5.30pm
Thursday 6.15 – 8.30pm

If these times are not suitable, or you wish to submit a membership application, our Group Leader, Jasmine Chaytor can be contacted on 377 2028 or 0274 888 236. Needless to say, with an ever-growing group, we are always on the lookout for supportive members of the public to help us.
