Laser Hair Removal for Men – A Growing Trend

(PR.co.nz) Laser hair removal is no longer the domain of woman. With the hipster beard firmly on trend, one would not be foolish to assume that male hair removal is on the decline – quite the contrary. Laser hair removal is no longer the domain of woman.

With the hipster beard firmly on trend, one would not be foolish to assume that male hair removal is on the decline – quite the contrary.

While personal grooming and “manscaping” are common place, the desire for permanent hair removal is only a recent trend amongst men.

An Auckland based laser hair removal clinic, operated by Smita Jones, reported a 75% increase in male clientèle between 2013 and 2014. This Number increased a further 30% the following year.

“Men are becoming much for accepting of cosmetic treatments,” says Jones. “Social trends around male body hair seem to be shifting towards the cleaner, hairless look and men are becoming more concious of their body hair”.

Men are not only embracing permanent hair removal, they are also undergoing other cosmetic treatments.

From facials and waxing, to botox and fillers men are feeling the pressure to look more presentable – particularly in the business world.

“Many of the men I see are in Marketing or Real Estate, competitive client facing roles. They feel that they need beauty treatment to keep ahead”.
