(PR.co.nz) With the opening of its new Riccarton location, Overland Footwear is celebrating it’s heritage and embracing the look and personalised service that came with visiting a traditional shoe merchant.
Moving across the corridor from their previous location in Riccarton Mall, the new Overland Footwear site boasts a 220 square metre floor space adorned with vintage furnishings, rich wooden floors and a lounge space where customers can relax and try on styles from Overland’s extensive footwear range.
In an effort to personalise the shopping experience, dedicated men’s and women’s entrances lead customers to the ranges they desire.
Managing Director Shane Anselmi sees the separate entrances as a key move in the success of a store. “In this larger space we have the opportunity to celebrate the history of our company, and the relationship we have with our customers. We have always had a men’s clientele, and wanted to give them a space of their own to browse our collection.”
The shared lounge area rejoins the two sections of the store, with striking black and white tiles, rich mahogany tables and plush vintage style loungers adding to the heritage feel of the store.
The striking floor-to-ceiling vitrines house Overland’s winter 2012 collection, with pools of light showcasing the immaculate detailing of each piece.
Leading Overland’s direction since day one, Anselmi sees the evolution of Overland Footwear as a positive one. “We saw this as a great opportunity to step back and reexamine the footwear industry and how we as a brand could better serve our customers. The Riccarton store allows customers to interact with the Overland brand in a polished and relaxed environment.”
With the Lambton Quay store set for a similar revamp this year, Anselmi confirms that there are plans to roll this sleeker, traditional look Overland design out further in the future.
Overland Riccarton Mall opened Wednesday April 4, 2012.
