(PR.co.nz) The YMCA Ellerslie Recreation Centre welcomes local residents and communities to join us in their open day on Saturday 1st of February to celebrate the completion of renovations which have spanned over the better part of the past year.
It will be a fun day filled with activities for the entire family. Adults and teens can sample the group exercise classes on offer weekly at the centre such as Spin and Zumba or test their might on the gym equipment, while the kids join in on gymnastics & basketball tutorials, hop on the bouncy castle and take home balloon animals made by our own Sam Wilson. Refreshments and a sausage sizzle will be available.
Several draws will also be on offer for the opportunity to win prizes such as free membership to our fitness centre, personal training packages, and children’s term programme packages. Special membership rates will also be on offer.
Bruce Davey, Centre Manager of the Ellerslie Recreation Centre is looking forward to presenting the centre for members and non-members alike: “We really love giving the community the opportunity to visit ‘their’ centre. We do what we do because of the locals and our members. Without their support and passion we would be just another recreation facility. It’s all about community!”
The YMCA Recreation Centre has been a staple in the local Ellerslie community since its establishment in 1979 offering health, wellbeing and recreational opportunities from early childhood education to guided group exercise for seniors. Located in the idyllic surrounds of the Michaels Ave Reserve, it’s the perfect place to gather and bring the entire family for a little time off.
