Pre-school Football Strikes it out in West Auckland

(PR.co.nz) Little Kickers runs football (Soccer) classes for children aged 18 months to 7 years of age. They have already stamped their mark on the Central Auckland scene of pre-school activities with classes at capacity and after demand from parents out west are on their way to entertain your Little Kickers.

“The response to our classes and parents spreading the word has bought on demand from parents wanting us to start out west” Yvette Summers-Gervai, Director Little Kickers NZ.

Little Kickers is excited to launch Saturday morning indoor football sessions at the Te Atatu South Community Centre starting in March. Sessions use a lot of imaginative play where children develop skills without realising and learn at their own pace. We cater for boys and girls, from toddlers who have never kicked a ball to those who seem to have a ball permanently stuck to their foot!

Little Kickers is a global franchise originating in London 8 years ago and has grown to become the largest provider of pre-school football in the U.K. Over 115 franchises currently operate in the UK, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Scotland, Ireland and now here in New Zealand.

What makes Little Kickers unique is that Early Childhood Educators have been a key component to creating sessions alongside FA Football coaches. While Little Kickers can’t promise that they’ll produce the All Whites 2018 World Cup team (although that would be a great claim to fame), their main aim is to introduce a positive and fun association with sports from a young age. Statistics point to an ever increasing rise in childhood obesity and studies show that the earlier children partake in active movement activities the more likely they are to continue with it in years ahead.

Yvette Summers-Gervai, Co-Director of Little Kickers NZ, is passionate about sports and children’s health and their happiness. Yvette and her English husband have identical twin 2 year old boys, they own the Master Franchise for New Zealand which Yvette runs part-time and are looking to expand further out west through franchising, both in Auckland and nationwide.

“We can’t wait to start out west and look forward to growing the sport from the grassroots level up” Yvette.
