(PR.co.nz) Football fans will be in for a special treat this Saturday 10 July when they get an opportunity to get up close and personal to the All Whites stars and full Phoenix line-up in Garden Place at 9.45am, ahead of a 2pm pre-season match against Brisbane Roar at Waikato Stadium.
The Waikato Stadium game occurs on the same weekend as the World Cup Final will take place in South Africa.
Adding local flavour to the Brisbane Roar match will be Hamilton boy and now Phoenix midfielder, Marcos Rojas. Rojas is a former Fraser High School student and Hamilton Wanderers player.
Hamilton City Council event facilities manager Olly Te Ua says Saturday’s meet and greet will be an unmissable opportunity for Hamilton fans.
“On the back of the All Whites’ outstanding performance in the World Cup, these guys are hot property and true heroes throughout the country.
“Saturday will be a rare opportunity for Hamilton fans to get up close and personal with coach Ricki Herbert, All Whites stars Mark Paston, Tim Brown, Tony Lochhead, Leo Bertos, Ben Sigmund and the full Phoenix line-up.
“With live music and giveaways it will be a great morning out for football fans and the whole family, and a perfect lead in to the afternoon’s match against Brisbane Roar.”
Last weekend’s Wellington Phoenix open day drew big crowds in Wellington.
Following the Garden Place appearance, the Wellington Phoenix will kick off against Brisbane Roar in a pre-season game at 2pm at Waikato Stadium.
Tickets for the Waikato Stadium game are available online at www.ticketek.co.nz or by phoning 0800 TICKETEK.
