Eight Nation Free Trade Deal (TPP) Negotiations

Negotiations towards an eight-nation free trade deal, known as the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) begin this week in Melbourne, with a focus on extending existing free trade agreement between New Zealand, Singapore, Chile and Brunei to include the United States, Vietnam, Peru and Australia.

$21m Food Development Facilities Nationwide

The government plans to spend up to $21 million establishing a network of food development facilities in order to encourage New Zealand’s export base to create more value from their products, to help raise NZ’s economic growth rate.
