Andrea Martinisi 2nd at ASI Sommeliers

Andrea Martinisi placed 2nd at the ASI Association of Sommeliers Asia-Oceania Competition in Tokyo. This competition is the most important international event for wine and beverage professionals working in restaurants and hotels in Asia and Oceania. Held every three years, 24 candidates from 13 countries lined up for the 2022 contest.

Landscape of the year 2021 supreme winner crowned

Humphreys Landscaping has secured the coveted Landscape of the Year 2021 supreme award at tonight’s Landscapes of Distinction Awards in Christchurch, with its winning entry ‘Herne Bay House’. The ‘Herne Bay House’ entry also scooped up first place gold medals in the premier awards section in the construction, design and horticulture categories.

NZ Distilleries in Excellent Spirits after International Wins!

NZ distilleries are producing world-class spirits with a number of boutique operations out-performing the global greats in the recent International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) held in London. In particular NZ was well represented in the medal haul for Gin, Rum & Vodka. Of the 20 categories, seven Kiwi distilleries were awarded 11 medals between them – 7 Bronze, 3 Silver and 1 Gold.

NZ Sommeliers Triumph

The New Zealand Sommelier of the Year 2018 has been won by Marek Przyborek of Huami Restaurant at Sky City. The title was announced by Head Judge Cameron Douglas MS at the New Zealand Sommelier and Wine Professionals Awards Dinner earlier this week. In a close-run competition, Andrea Martinisi from the Grove and Baduzzi Restaurants in Auckland and Maciej Zimny from Noble Rot in Wellington were runners-up.

Kiwi Small Business Award Results

The finalists in The David Awards 2017 have been named. “If these Awards are any indication of the state of New Zealand’s small business sector, then we certainly have every reason to be optimistic about the future!”, enthuses Judge Glenn Baker. “The judges were inspired and impressed by the stories, the passion and the stand-out results being achieved by the finalists.”
