Whitebaiters are ignoring warnings to cease fishing in sewage contaminated Canterbury rivers following the earthquake. Whitebait, fish and shellfish taken from sewage-contaminated rivers, river mouths or estuaries, including the Waimakariri, Selwyn, Heathcote, Avon, Halswell and Styx rivers could cause serious illness.
