Commerce Commission cuts mobile termination rates
New Zealand Commerce Commission announces that mobile termination rates (the cost of sending a text or call to a different network) will have significant reductions enforced in the wholesale rates. The expectation is that this will result in reductions of the prices paid by New Zealand mobile users.
Commerce Commission recommends resale deregulation
The Commerce Commission (www.comcom.govt.nz) on Friday recommended to Government that a number of services that Telecom provides to other telecommunications companies to be resold should no longer be subject to the Telecommunications Act 2001.
Trade Me Car Sellers Warning
The Commerce Commission is reminding people who frequently sell motor vehicles on Trade Me or similar sites to be aware of their legal obligations when advertising and selling motor vehicles. Anyone who sells more than six cars in a 12 month period is considered by law to be a motor vehicle trader, and motor vehicle traders have more legal obligations than private sellers.
Misleading NZ Made Company Fined
Prokiwi International has pleaded guilty and been fined for 17 representative charges of breaching the Fair Trading Act for supplying products that mislead customers into believing the products were New Zealand made.
Payment Distribution for ANZ ING Investors
The Commerce Commission has determined payment distribution to ANZ/ING investors. The payment method should return about 95% of the capital originally invested by eligible investors.
