Visitors to next year’s Ellerslie International Flower Show (EIFS) will be able to enjoy more gardens than have ever been on display before in Christchurch. Exhibition Manager Kate Hillier says there will be a record 45 gardens at next year’s Show – the biggest turnout since the Show moved to Christchurch. At this year’s EIFS, there were 34 gardens while in 2009, the first year the Show was in Christchurch, there were 26 gardens.

Christchurch and Banks Peninsula residents will now be able to buy discounted tickets for next year’s Ellerslie International Flower Show (EIFS) until the end of October.

The 2010 Ellerslie International Flower Show injected almost $15 million into Christchurch.

The Ellerslie International Flower Show received crowds of 10,000 visitors on its second day, despite intermittent rain, including Prime Minister John Key.

Three exhibition gardens have won gold at the Ellerslie International Flower Show 2010.

Christchurch, the Garden City, is aiming to retain the title for the National Flower Bed Competition at the 2010 Ellerslie International Flower Show, with an entry depicting punting on the Avon.
