Hamilton Locals Opportunity to Perform in China

Hamilton City Council is calling on local groups of dancers, singers and musicians, to perform on a global stage – as part of the Chengdu International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival in China. The festival, from 26 July to 1 August, aims to promote cultural and art exchanges between Chengdu and its sister cities. Hamilton became a sister city with Chengdu in 2015 after signing a memorandum of understanding in 2014.

The international bestseller (over 3 million copies sold worldwide) Capital in the 21st Century written by Thomas Piketty will be given a big screen adaptation as Matthew Metcalfe of General Film Corporation and Yann Le Prado of Upside today announce the project has entered into production.

From today BV Gourmet and The Burleigh have taken on the uniquely Māori products for sale in their stores with a tasting to boot this Saturday at BV Gourmet. Maintenir wins pulp mill maintenance contract

Maintenir Limited has been awarded the trade services maintenance contract for the Kinleith and Tasman Pulp and Paper Mills, located near Tokoroa and Kawerau and operated by Oji Fibre Solutions. Maintenir will provide the majority of the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and stores services across the two main manufacturing sites, under a $40m plus long-term maintenance agreement from April 2017.

A recent survey by Weet-Bix Better Brekkie revealed eight in ten (78%) children aged 5-7 years could operate a cell phone and a further nine in ten (89%) have mastered a TV remote, but less than a third (29%) of this age group make their own lunch.
