A trust that normally works in the remote subantartic islands have heeded the call for help in earthquake-ravaged christchurch. With 100s of cans of long-life food that they bought back from a research expedition to Campbell Island the week before the earthquake, they are able to bring relief to the most hard hit eastern suburbs.

Telecom NZ Assisting with Australia Flood Relief

Telecom New Zealand has announced its Chorus business will be sending a team of Chorus and service company technicians to Brisbane to assist in the restoration of telecommunications services to the devastated Queensland and NSW regions. A universal text-to-donate service has also been facilitated by Telecom to support the New Zealand Red Cross in its national appeal, Australian Floods Fund, for those affected by the disaster, $3 can be donated by texting “flood” to 336 from Telecom, Vodafone or 2degrees networks.
